at the end of the school year last year I decided to do a year in an Italian school to improve the language. I already knew a girl who had done a year in this school and she said she loved it. So I was even more motivated now and I have spoken with the president that he agreed with my choice. I was informed of what awaited me in Italian schools and the more motivated I went to my first day of the Italian school.
beginning of the school year but I still had problems in the language during the first few weeks are much improved my language and especially the vocabulary.
The classmates were now very kind, I was treated cordially and were ready to help.
Unlike the German school in this school you have to buy more than twenty books for one school year and hardly half of them never used. It would make more sense to reduce the number of books to buy for not spending money on useless books.
I realized that some teachers of various subjects can not finish the whole program of a school year, it still must finish the previous year. So the matter of teaching in higher IV is not the same as the German school.
We see large differences between the two schools in the grammar of Latin, which in the German school was carried out by the end of first quarter of class III. Even in the History of the German school is faster in comparison to the Italian school.
I saw that working is not always very fast during the lesson, there are always lots of writing assignments to do at home, work, and this added to the oral study often asks too much work.
A very positive experience for me was knowing the history of art. The German school had never had this issue and it was even more interesting and helps me in reference to the history of music, I have in the German school.
During the school year I met my best mates, we became friends. Too bad I could not go to Vienna with the class, but I chose a trip to Ireland with my class German also to improve the English.
If I think of all the positive and negative experiences that I have done during this school year I can say I am very happy to have taken this step. There was always plenty to do and often it was hard to maintain the motivation to study, but I'm proud that I did it and recommend it to all those who want to learn Italian better, to take a year out of their school. It's very interesting to learn about the Italian mentality (which is very different than in Germany) and subjected himself to a test. All those who have the courage to make an experience like this have done something to join the Italians and Germans in South Tyrol. What I saw in this school year I take a lot for the future, because I have no fear of speaking in Italian and more courage to deal with new things.
